Hello!
We were told: there is nothing to do, nothing to see!
We were told: this is not a resort town, it is covered with cement!
We were told: yes, no one goes there to rest!
And curiosity got the better of me. How so?! City by the sea, on the shores of the famous bay. I saw so many historical battles — and there is nothing to watch ?!
Without listening to those who did not advise us to go, we rented a one-room apartment in advance with a view of the Tsemess Bay.
Yes, of course, we are talking about Novorossiysk. I love history, and going to the Black Sea, I could not help but visit this hero city.
When I was a schoolgirl, we almost learned by heart the book of L. I. Brezhnev «Small Land». And the described tragic and heroic events took place here.
And even during the years of the civil war, steamships headed from here to Istanbul, on which people who did not accept the new power left their homeland.
We rented an apartment in a new 16-storey building. Yes, it was not the center of the city. But from the window there was a wonderful view of the Tsemess Bay and the Malaya Zemlya memorial.

Cape Sudzhuk and the Sudzhuk Spit were located very close to us, where we went to swim. To the left of the spit was the actual bay, the water was not very clean. And on the right — the purest sea water.
We walked a lot around the city. As, however, and always, no matter what city you come to. We looked around the memorial, went inside.

Not far from the memorial is an open-air museum of military equipment. My men walked there for two hours.

I really liked the city, very much! Wide streets, abundance of greenery, spaciousness. Beautiful modern houses. A large number of stadiums, sports grounds for skateboards and scooters. The buildings of new modern large schools.
But the most important thing is the incomparable embankment. There are always a lot of people here, both adults and children. But the embankment is so wide and spacious that it is not crowded here. In the evenings, musicians entertain walking people.
And along the entire length of the embankment — sculptures. Really — good sculptures, real works of art.

The words from the romance come to mind: “Ah, the Russian sun, the great sun, The ship“ Emperor ”froze like an arrow … Lieutenant Golitsyn, maybe we’ll return, Why do we need a foreign land, lieutenant.” Photo from personal archive. And, of course, we could not ignore the Kutuzov cruiser. I am very glad that my son had the opportunity to visit this excursion. And we adults had a lot of fun too.

How, how is that?! This is called — there is nothing to see in Novorossiysk ?! So we were told by our friends — great lovers of relaxation in Anapa.
Four days in Novorossiysk flew by quickly and were very eventful. We devoted one of the days to a trip to Abrau-Dyurso. Of course, we went on excursions of champagne wines, swam in Lake Abrau, rode a boat …

I did not regret for a minute that while traveling along the Black Sea coast, we stayed for a few days in Novorossiysk!
There is something to see here, if you want to swim — you can also find places.
There was an inexpensive canteen near our house where we had lunch every day. The food is simple, but good: soups, mashed potatoes with meatballs or fried fish, fresh vegetable salads, juices. Prices for groceries in stores are not high and not low, average. Acceptable.
All in all, a great city!
