Paranoia in the village about the coronavirus

Good afternoon!

It always seemed that the coronavirus was something so far away, in big cities … It turned out — no, quite close by, in our village.

The virus was picked up by one of the son’s friends from his grandfather (!) Some time ago, grandfather went to the nearest city on business. I note that in that city at the time of grandfather’s trip, there was no infection, as it were — officially. And a few days later, the “corona” was found in a Moscow student who was sent to the outback to relatives to wait out the infection. At the moment, it is believed that the infected one is the same student. Interestingly, that student arrived in the city a few days after the visit of the elderly man.

The grandson of the infected elderly man had several contacts with peers in the village. Including my son. As a result, everyone was quarantined — which is fair. Fortunately, none of the contactees were infected. Tests were done twice, both times negative.

People need to be treated for paranoia first

The behavior of fellow villagers is impressive.

During the days of quarantine, we and other quarantined young people (more than 10 people) were regularly visited by the police to check compliance with the quarantine regime. The policemen laughed: “We are driving in vain. Neighbors sitting in quarantine do our work for five plus! The mother of one of the quarantined guys went to the store (by the way, she was allowed, but wearing a mask), so three neighbors called, said that the “infectious” one had left the house and they would all die of suffocation tomorrow. And the woman barely had time to open the gate! If anyone breaks, we will know in a minute — secret employees are on the alert!

Another man, a relative of the quarantined student, who does not even live in the same house with him, was refused service in the store. Isn’t that paranoia?

And the guy who caught the virus was literally destroyed by former classmates in a VKontakte conversation, “rolled out”, instead of supporting, a few stood up.

Now it’s worth sniffing or sneezing — that’s it, you are coronavirus, you need to run away from you without looking back, stop communicating and not answering calls!

We now have only one disease left

I wonder if our past SARS, SARS, dear to our hearts, have completely ceased to exist? And now there is no sore throat, and bronchitis? Only one disease remained — «corona»?

Not so long ago, in February, my employee fell ill with bronchitis with a severe dry cough and high fever. I sat on sick leave, treated according to the doctor’s prescription. She returned to work 12 days later. And her mother, 83 years old, a bedridden patient after two strokes, also began to cough and died 5 days later. And we went to the funeral with the whole team. Who knows, maybe it was also a coronavirus? After all, no one did tests then … And many coughed. It was believed that this is such a SARS this year. And the school, by the way, was in quarantine for a week, as, indeed, every year at about the same time.

Let’s not be absurd

I am for reasonable precautions. Wash your hands, keep your distance in the store, don’t hug your friends… Wear a mask if you feel unwell… But shying away from everyone and everyone is, in my opinion, too much. And the calls of “good” neighbors to the police and Rospotrebnadzor … Where is Europe
